It's My Birthday, So I Made a Box Set!
Happy Pawlidays, Reader!It's my birthday tomorrow and I'm so excited that I finished Kicking Holly Jolly Killers that I'm being a chaos gremlin of entertainment! If you're new here, welcome! I'm Noelle, AKA E. N. Crane and Noelle Rider, and I write books for animal lovers with a wicked sense of humor. My main characters are plus-sized, coffee addicted, and "woke", mostly because it's hard to sleep with all the coffee and whatnot. I'm a plus-sized, neuro-divergent dog mom, city government employee, wife, reader, and step-ladder substitute for short people who need help. I love coffee, Peeps, cheese, wine and dogs. Most of my updates are E. N. Crane related today. Breaking News: Sharp Investigations eBooks 1-10 Box Set!It’s my birthday week but also a holiday month. I know money is tight, people have been struggling, the world is terrifying, and honestly, getting out of bed every day is a lot to ask. So… I did a thing! It took a few hours (during which I watched the Seattle Kraken give two empty net goals to the Minnesota Wild… so embarrassing. They are not a third period team), and I have discovered that Book Brush is the worst design tool known to woman kind, but…. Sharp Investigations Books 1 through 10 are in an e-book Box Set for $20 (plus tax) I tested it last night. When you place your order, you’ll get an email confirmation from my website (I added some language, please email me to confirm you got your books), and then an email from book funnel with 10 different links to download 10 different eBooks, instead of one REALLY BIG ebook. This is very important to me and why I don't have any box sets on Amazon. I hate huge downloads. But isn’t the graphic that tried to kill me cool? I spent hours making those individual spines (three quarters of Kraken hockey) and while the background kind of bothers me, the most offensive part visually is the book one cover is slightly larger than its friends despite not being altered in any way from one spine to the next. (I know, I know, no one wants to know how the sausage gets made. I digress.) ALSO! Kicking Holly Jolly Killers eBook is LIVE on my website, the paperback is available to order on Amazon, and you can still pre-order the Amazon eBook for December 13th release! (It’s official release date). My editor and editor in training (sorry, Angela) both think it’s the best yet. I worry it’s not that good because nothing explodes and Cyn loses a lot of blood, but eh? It’s not like she can’t make more. It's why I donate it.
Personally...I’ve spent a lot of time heavily invested in hockey. While last year I went to the Steelheads (ECHL) and was deeply unimpressed, I still enjoy hockey. So when I discovered Idaho Humane Society gets group tickets as partners and re-sells them, giving $5 to the animals, I decided I could watch less great hockey to help animals (also it’s less than $30…) Then for Thanksgiving we went to my MIL’s house and I made my BIL go to a Texas Stars game (AHL), and we had a blast even though they were WORSE! The Grand Rapids Griffin scored in the first 15 seconds and it was almost a shutout situation, but the lone star state pulled out a lone point to keep it 10 to 1. It was like watching an NHL offense against a peewee defense. They gave the goalie a full court press from the time the puck hit the ice and there was no reprieve. THEN later that week, the Stars sent their goalie back down to the Steelheads and the goalie we’d seen at the Steelheads the week before went up to the Stars. They have a partnership (the NHL Dallas Stars are also part of it) Could you imagine you’re living in Idaho, it’s 40 degrees, there’s the possibility of snow, and then bam! You’re moved to Texas where it’s 80 & sunny? Then the other way? I kind of hope they traded wardrobes while trading teams because otherwise… doom. In case you can’t tell, hockey is my new AUDHD obsession, so I’ll be over here obsessing about team merch and doing the human version of a cat with a laser pointer watching the puck. I'll let you know if / when it ends. If not, you might see a hockey romance in my future. Tomorrow is my actual birthday, so I am going skating at Ice World, visiting the new romance bookstore in downtown Boise, then reading / napping / chilling. I took the day off of work, though if you guys’ order books, I’ll happily fill book orders on my birthday. All books shipped by me come with complimentary dog fur and stickers! It's Finally Fall, Reader! I've gotten a pumpkin beverage from Dutch Bros (obviously, if you've read the Ampersand Trilogy), Biggby (soooo good), Starbucks (just cuz it's the OG), and my own house where we buy the Jose's Pumpkin Spice roast and then I bought my own jug of pumpkin sauce.
